Subject: IEEE GEOSS Workshop in Beijing, May22-23, 2006 "The User and the
GEOSS Architecture III - Applications in Wind Energy and Resource
Management"

Dear Colleagues:

I would like to draw your attention to the IEEE GEOSS Workshop scheduled to
be held on May 22-23, 2006 in Beijing, China. The one and a half day
Workshop is entitled, “The User and the GEOSS Architecture III –
Applications in Wind Energy and Resource Management”. The announcement for
this workshop is attached. The success of GEOSS hinges on the widespread
distribution of relevant environmental data and the degree of
interoperability of the associated data sources and user-based Earth system
models. This workshop will address the architecture of GEOSS with an
emphasis on applications in Wind Energy and Resource Management within Asia
and the Pacific Rim nations. We have distinguished invited speakers from
UK, Canada, Japan, Denmark, Malaysia, Vietnam and China.

The technical Cosponsors of the Workshop are

a) The Group on Earth Observations (GEO)
b) IEEE Committee on Earth Observations (IEEE CEO)
c) IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE GRSS)
d) International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS)
e) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)
f) China Remote Sensing Satellite Ground Station (China RSGS)
g) China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and
h) The IEEE Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society (IEEE AESS)
For more information, please refer to website

I hope you will be able to attend this workshop and participate in the
discussions.

Sincerely,
Leung Tsang
