[Unoosa-stdm] UN/China/ESA Training Course on the Use and Applications of GNSS, 4 – 8 December 2006, Beijing, China - FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear All,

This training course is being organized in cooperation with the Government
of China and the European Space Agency (ESA), as part of the activities of
the United Nations Programme on Space Applications, for the benefit of the
developing countries in Asia and the Pacific region. The training course
will be hosted by the National Remote Sensing Centre of China and
China-Europe GNSS Technology Training and Cooperation Centre in Beijing
from 4 to 8 December 2006.

The training course includes lectures, presentation of examples, exercises
and technical visit. The following topics will be addressed:

1. Overview and status of GNSS (Galileo, Glonass, GPS);
2. GNSS application areas overview on transport and communication,
aviation, location based services, tracking animals or dangerous goods,
management of natural disasters, emergency management, surveying and
mapping, precision agriculture;
3. Introduction to Galileo programme and the cooperation between China and
Europe.
