[UN SPIDER] Central Asia GIS Conference, May 27-28, 2010, Kyrgyzstan and 8th AARSE - Addis Ababa

   Dear Colleagues,
   As part of Outreach Activities we are organising this year two
   UN-SPIDER Workshops. The first one for Africa which will be held in
   May. Further info can be found on the following website:

   Deadline for sending applications (particularly if you are requesting
   funding support) is next Friday 26 March 2010.
   We are also supporting a number of regional conferences including the
   upcoming GISCA Conference in Bishkek which has just sent out a final
   announcement which I am attaching below.
   Please do consider joining us in May for the GISCA Conference. This is
   the second time we are supporting this very major event and we do hope
   you will take the opportunity to submit a paper to be presented at the
   Conference maybe even during the UN-SPIDER Special Session. Limited
   funding is available for presenters that have papers accepted for this
   Special Session.
   I am also attaching a first announcement for the next 8th AARSE
   Conference to be held in Addis Ababa in October. We plan to organise
   also during this major African Conference a UN-SPIDER Special Session.

   Dear Colleagues,

   The Austria-Central Asia Centre for GIScience at the Kyrgyz State
   University of Construction, Transortation and Architecture and the
   Centre for GeoinforÂmatics (Z_GIS), Salzburg University, Austria with
   support from the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet announce the Fourth Central
   Asia GIS Conference - GISCA'10 " Water: Life, Risk, Energy and Landuse"
   in May 27-28, 2010, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

   The main objectives of this conference are to bring together GIS
   academics, researchers and practitioÂners in the Central Asian
   countries and encourage international cooperation and knowledge
   exchange in GIS science and education. The conference committee invites
   you to actively participate in this international event and submit
   paÂpers for publication and presentation at the conference.

   We invite experts from Central Asia on disaster management to the
   [10]UN-SPIDER Special Session: "Managing Disasters using Space-based
   Information in Central Asia", which will be held during the conference.
   Limited number of funding will be available to applicants with papers
   or presentations on the competitive base.
