United Nations Spatial Data Infrastructure - UNSDI

At its annual Plenary Meeting in 2006, UNGIWG took a decision in principle to embark on building the “UN Spatial Data Infrastructure (UNSDI)”. The UNSDI vision is that of a comprehensive, decentralized geospatial information framework that facilitates decision-making at various levels by enabling access, retrieval and dissemination of geospatial data and services in a rapid and secure way.

UNGIWG is currently engaged in the development of UNSDI Institutional and Technical governance frameworks.
